TERMS
Adopt = The process when an agency takes a team and makes the minimum requirements, a practice per week and every other game.

CNJ = Abbreviation for Cops N Jocks

Cross Adoption = The process when the agency of jurisdiction fails, does not or cannot adopt a school, an agency from another jurisdiction may be allowed to adopt that school based on the following conditions, the agency is invited by the community and or the school, the agency is willing to allow the representation while outside jurisdiction.

FACTS
What sports are involved?
ALL sports, females and males are involved in the program. If the school wants an officer, then we will work with the agencies that patrol its jurisdiction to adopt them.

How is Cops N Jocks Funded?
We are funding entirely by donations from businesses, peace officer associations and small grants. The program does institute a $35 fee to all schools, which helps pay for all administrative costs. We operate on a $9,000 budget.

If we don't have an officer can we still be in the program?
YES, throughout the year, we are operating a police youth academy, we offer incentive awards (Purple Heart for injured players, Unity Spirit and Pride Awards), for all sports and all schools, if they are adopted or not.

Is Cops N Jocks just about athletes?
NO, we offer several programs for non athletes and even services for students who aren't in our schools. Our website offers advise, merchandise and resources for community policing services. We have hosted dinners and lectures for schools, community forums from serious historical events like Columbine and 911. Our Youth Academy is open to any upperclassmen and our Student Government works to help promote our efforts, helicopter fly over and game ball delivers with our sponsor Mercy Air. There is just so much to do, simply ask us or do a search on the Internet and see all the neat things we have done.

Who are the officers involved in the program?
Full time peace officers from any law enforcement agency, reserves, cadets and just recently firefighters have been brought into the Cops N Jocks Program. State Park Rangers, Parole Agents and Probation Officers, positions in which youths may wrongfully stereotype the police. But this depends on the agency involved.

Does Cops N Jocks work?
Our survey and statistics will be posted within a week on our levels of effectiveness, 15 schools were surveyed nationwide. The findings are incredible. We must be doing something right after being in operation for 10 years now!
